In September 2025 Durant Sports manufactured, supplied and installed two new electronic scoreboards for Swindon Town FC’s Community Foundation — one mobile unit for the outdoor pitches, and one fixed unit inside the indoor dome.
A scoreboard that follows the sessions
The outdoor board is a DSF2 with eight 10-inch digits, powered by a 230V lithium-ion battery system and mounted on a custom trolley so it can be moved between pitches.
A community foundation does not run its sessions in one place. Coaching moves between pitches depending on the group, the age band and what else is booked, and a fixed scoreboard only serves whichever pitch it happens to face.
Battery power is what makes that work. There is no supply to run out to a pitch, no cable to trail across grass, and no restriction on where the board can go — it is wheeled to wherever the session is and switched on. For outreach and community programmes, that flexibility is worth more than a larger board bolted to one stand.
Inside the dome
Inside the dome sits a compact mains-powered HOME / AWAY / TIME board.
A dome is a different problem. The space is enclosed and the sightlines are short, so the board does not need size — it needs to be readable from anywhere inside and to take up as little of the playing envelope as possible. A compact three-field display does exactly that, and with a permanent supply available there is no reason to run it on batteries.
Two spaces, two entirely different specifications, from one supplier and one conversation.
Finished in club colours
Both units were fully customised in Swindon Town’s club colours and carry the club logo.
For a foundation that runs sessions for people who may never come to a first-team match, the branding does a job of its own — every session takes place in front of the club’s colours. It also means the equipment reads as part of the club rather than as generic kit that happens to be on site.
