ECB APPROVED Non-Turf Pitch System

We have been excited to announce that, as of November 12, 2024, our ‘A-Base’ Non-Turf Pitch System has received official approval from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). This certification affirms our commitment to providing top-quality, high-performance surfaces that meet the rigorous standards expected at all levels of play.

The ‘A-Base’ system is an exceptionally versatile solution designed to thrive in outdoor settings, making it ideal for a variety of cricketing training provisions. It’s adaptable design serves a wide range of applications, including dedicated practice areas, match-ready cricket pitches, and multi-use games areas (MUGAs). Whether for community sports grounds, schools, or professional training facilities, the ‘A-Base’ system offers a reliable, high-durability surface that can withstand intensive use over time.

The installation process of the ‘A-Base’ system begins with laying Durant Cricket’s prefabricated underpad, a specially developed base layer that provides added support as well as realistic ball performance. This underpad is installed over two carefully leveled and screeded layers of porous aggregate, which not only ensures a stable foundation but also allows for exceptional drainage, preventing water buildup and therefore escalating a teams chances of match play despite wet conditions. This drainage capability is essential for maintaining a consistent playing surface and enhancing player safety by reducing the risk of slipping, even in challenging weather.

The final step in the ‘A-Base’ installation involves applying our premium Durant-CW tufted surface and providing requested line marking. This high-quality tufted turf is designed to replicate the bounce and responsiveness of a natural pitch while offering superior durability. Its tufted construction ensures that the surface retains its form and playability over time, even under the intense demands of frequent use.
